In a world that we live in today, our phones, our apps are made to keep us watching content. I think these movies and TV shows are built so you can just watch their content and waste time. Time is the number thing that you can’t get back. Lately I have been glue to Facebook and YouTube to check on the news and to see what’s going on in the world. Right now I am working from home and it’s even worse now that I am on my phone for a long period of time. I had to say to myself, enough is enough and watching all this TV and YouTube is getting nowhere.
So I had to change my mindset on things and it took time but now I am putting the phone down, I am watching way less YouTube and Netflix now and producing more and more content building business for my family. What and how I changed my mindset and how did I stop watching YouTube and Netflix?
How did I stop watching YouTube and Netflix?
The first thing you must do is admit that you watch too much YouTube and Netflix. That should be the first thing you do to start the process. Once you say to yourself, I watch too much TV then the next thing to do is change the way you think. What can I do instead of YouTube and Netflix? The next that you can do is think, what is my goals for the next 3 years or 5 years?
Can I work extra hours at my job to make more money? Is there a side job I can do to make more money? Do I need to do things around my home or anything that I need to clean up? Should I be spending more time with family and friends? Getting up and writing a plan and things down things that needs to be done is one of the best ways to stop watching YouTube and Netflix. Take action is the key. There Is nothing wrong with YouTube if you are looking up info or trying to build something.
I know that I need to take more action. My son is 2 at the time of me writing this post and my wife and I wants to home school him. In order to do that, we need to start building passive income and a build outside of our jobs now. He will start school in 3 years so me watching YouTube and Netflix is not helping at all.
If we start now, by the time he is 5, we will be making more money, have a business built up and maybe we can quit our jobs and work from home full time. Right now with our jobs changing and people losing their jobs and our jobs is not guaranteed by anyone, we can lose out jobs and have no income coming in.
How can you watch YouTube and Netflix
The best times to watch YouTube and Netflix is when you have completed your to do list for the day. Every day I write down a to do list that has things that will push my business forward and help out my business. I will done those things first before any YouTube and Netflix watching.
Now I will watch YouTube to learn something new or I need info my something for my business, there is nothing wrong with doing that. Once my list is done, then I can watch YouTube and Netflix or play video games. This is my free time and as long as you do the work that is needed to be done, I don’t see anything wrong with watching YouTube and Netflix after you get your work done.
You can take a day off from your business and Netflix and chill. Try 80% work and 20% YouTube and Netflix. For me, this is the best way to stop watching YouTube and Netflix or any TV and watching anything else in the internet. Work hard and play later and guess what, that YouTube and Netflix and the TV will be there when you get there.
