Thinking about buying a car is great but how much does it cost? How much money should you save up before buying a car? How do I save up the money to buy a car? Well I have some history in buying cars and saving money for a car so lets go over that. How much you should spend on a car depends and what type of car you want to get. The car you want, is it a car that you want or a car that you need? If you need a car than the type of car should not matter as long as the car runs well. If it’s a car that you want well that’s something different. Keep in mind that the more money the car cost, the longer it would take to pay off the car if you get a loan.

If I could save money for a car, I would save up $4000 or $5000 for a new car. That amount is a good enough for a great down payment on a nice car but some people don’t have that type of money. $2000 would be a good amount for a car to start with. Now that’s if you are getting a loan for the car but if you can pay the car off please do so if you can.

How to save money for a new car?

With saving money for anything, you need to cut out things that you don’t need or things you can do yourself or lower your current bills and go with something cheaper. Of course  cut out going out to eat and buying things that you don’t need. The one thing I did was lower my house alarm bill from $50 dollar per month to 10 dollar per month with going with a different company. If you have high phone bill, maybe it’s time to switch to a cheaper plan or a different company.

Any services that you have that you can do yourself is another one way to save money. Cut out things that you don’t need. Try to catch deals on meals and try cooking from home. If you can work more hours please do so. Saving money takes time and think ahead of time. If the holidays coming, try to buy less things and find stuff on deals. Try to buy early so the price will not be high. The one thing I did was save money all year for Christmas and now I have money to spend.
