Keyword research is change so many times now that it’s hard to keep up. With Google changing the way that rank websites and blogs, us bloggers must change the way we research things we want to write about all the time. Now the old school was is to pick a topic, write a lot of content and hope it ranks. Then the keyword planner came out and people started using that to find keywords with low competition to rank for. Now people still use those and now there a is debate of does this tools work? I think it does work cause I see other people using them and it works for them but I do things differently.

What are the fundamentals of keyword research for a blog?

The basic fundamental is that you tried to find a keyword or phrase that people type into google that has low competition. That way you rank higher faster cause there is no one taking about what you are talking about. But  now it’s harder to find those low keywords and we have to do things differently.

I have been following Income school for a long time now and you can check out the website here: https://incomeschool.com/ with income school that teach how they do keyword research in a way that works. What they teach is you use google and type in what you topic is about and look at the results.

If you see a lot of big time blogs on the first and the second page, click on these websites, looks at the content and see if you can write a better one.  It takes more time but it works and that’s how the world does things anyway. Other companies looks at their competition and see what they can do different. So bloggers has to do the same thing. The method cost nothing by the way and you don’t need to invest a keyword tool.

The one thing that I do is use quora. Quora is a website where people post questions that have and can’t find online. This site is percent for you to see what are posting about in your niche and see what questions that you can write a blog post about. This blog post came from someone on quora asking about this. I still go to google to see what sites are ranking for this topic but I just start writing. If you google someone and all you see is YouTube videos or reddit answers or yahoo answers, that is the perfect  time to write that post cause there is no one writing about that and you should rank fast. Speaking of reddit, I also use them for blog topic as well. People post and talk about a lot of things on reddit. It’s a great place to found new things to talk about.

And that how I get new topic to write about and topics to do YouTube videos about. It does not take long but least you know what you are up against in the rankings. Check out the income school YouTube channel for more info on them and how they run their blogs. You must put yourself in the shoes of someone looking for the info that you know. What are some questions you had about the topic? What have you learned that you really can’t find online? or what are you looking up now and you want more info about, you can blog about.

The more I lean about something new, the more I can blog about and share with other people. The whole goal is to help people with questions they have and be that go to person for info. I hope this post helps you out on keyword research. So to recap, you can type in your topic into Google and see the results and is it worth you writing the blog? then head over to quora to see questions that people are posting. The lastly use reddit to see what people are posting about. know whats the best part of the whole thing, all of these ways are free and should not take long to find something to write about. it you keep using these, over time you will get better and faster.
